The Canadian Forces Sailing Association and its members are pleased to invite you and your crew members to use our facilities when visiting the Victoria area.
Due to heightened security measures in place in Canadian ports, CFSA is no longer a Customs clearing station except for CFSA Yachts berthed at CFSA. Also as part of these measures, visitors must call “Port Security” on Channel 10 VHF prior to entering Esquimalt harbour and report the name of your yacht, the number of persons aboard and your destination (CFSA). All craft must keep clear of military facilities – there are YELLOW buoys off the naval jetties to define the closest allowable approach. Under normal conditions this is all a routine matter but you may be approached by a guard boat for a visual inspection. Boarding is unlikely.
Reciprocal facilities and services are as follows: There is no charge for your first two days of reciprocal moorage. Further moorage cam be obtained at $0.50/ft/day to a total of 7 days alongside, twice yearly. Water and 15 amp. electricity is available on the floats at no charge. Showers and hot water are available at the Clubhouse, also at no charge. As you round the caissons the visitor berths at the end of the main float will be visible. They are identified by a blue bullrail relatively close to the eastern end of the easternmost caisson. Both sides are painted blue and may be approached from either side of the caissons. These visitor berths are relatively protected from our longest fetch, but occasionally receive waves from passing DND ferries which operate during the work day. After you have secured your vessel, please register your arrival at the kioskĀ at the top of the ramp or see Dave or Sam at the bar (if open),
Please fly your burgee at all times during your visit with us and we hope you enjoy your stay.
If you are planning a visit to CFSA please print and read the attached brochure. It will help you make your plans for your stay with us – or maybe even convince you to stay. We’d love to have you.
