The CFSA Juniors are meeting on Saturdays at 11:00 am. Time to tune up your sailing skills. The weather has been fantastic for sailing. Windy yet warm and calm. There are regattas coming up for those interested. The first of the season is Spring Dinghies on May 1st and 2nd at Royal Victoria Yacht Club. This is the same date as the CFSA Keelboat Regatta. Lots of sailing going on, so come on down and catch some of the action. If any of you ADULT sailors want to try the dinghies, come on out and we will have some fun.
There are spaces available on the Junior Race Team, so get off the couch, or the stage, and let’s get sailing! Last year our team purchased two sets of 420 racing sails and two new Opti racing sails. They brought one of our teams to a 1st place victory in British Columbia last year, so let’s do it again girls.
Two of our Juniors, who we now share with RVYC, are heading to Kitten Cup for the first regatta of the British Columbia circuit. Good Luck to Claire Brady and Heather Lee on their first out-of-town regatta with the Royal Victoria racing team. Racing in Vancouver’s English Bay is quite a challenge for the dinghies. Lots of tide, other boats and some great winds. This year, Heather and Claire are planning to compete in Edmonton, Alberta, and go all the way to Ottawa, Ontario, for the youth Nationals. This is going to take some work, but with support and training, the girls are going all the way! GO Heather and Claire!
