CFSA runs a Keel Boat racing program throughtout most of the year. Refer to the Keel Boat Racing Calendar 2011CFSA 2012 CFSA Keel Boat Racing Calendar & RC RosterII for details. There is no charge for CFSA members. Non members are also welcome, please refer to the charges outlined in the Sailing Instructions below.
How to get involved?
Skippers. It’s easy. Complete the CFSA Registration Form2012 and return to the Fleet Captain’s mail slot near the front door (bottom left slot). PHRF (Pacific Handicap Racing Fleet-Northwest) ratings are used to calculate results, and if you wish to be eligible for trophies, a valid, paid-up membership is required. If you wish to compete “for the fun of it”, our Club Handicapper, Jack Stacey, will be pleased to assign a “Club Rating”. Any questions about ratings should be directed to Jack at 250-479-3458 or wy537@hotmail.com. You’ll need a copyt of our Sailing Instructions March 2009 (see amendments below). A copy of CFSA Start Sequence Cheat Sheet might help. Please note a minor correct……all Long Distance AND Special Races are one start. Only Series races are two starts. Like to see how you are doing. Barring any problems, we aim to publish the race results below within a “couple” of days of the event.
Crew. We have numerous keelboat skippers looking for crew for our racing program. Check the Racing Calendar 2012 CFSA Keel Boat Racing Calendar & RC RosterII, show up approximately 1 hour prior to scheduled race time, and check the Notice Board under the sundeck for skippers looking for crew. If none listed, don’t be shy…….ask around. It is our policy to “leave no one behind”. Members and non-members wanting more details, please myself or Glen Shippam, Fleet Captain. We’d love to have you on board.
